Frequently asked questions

Is my data private? Yes. GameSlate has no accounts with us and no tracking. Your data is stored on your iPhone, and — if you turn on iCloud Sync — in your own private iCloud. It is never sent to us. See our Privacy Policy.

How does iCloud Sync work? With the full version you can turn on iCloud Sync in Settings. Your players, games and history are then kept in step across your Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account, stored in your own private iCloud. It's optional — leave it off and everything stays only on the device you're using. Settings shows when your data last synced, and you can tap Sync Now to check for updates.

What's free, and what does the full version add? GameSlate is free for up to 3 players and 3 games, with every calculator usable for up to 2 players. Logging games and tracking history and stats is free. A single one-time purchase (£4.99, no subscription) unlocks unlimited players and games, unlimited players in every calculator, saving calculator results straight to your game history, and iCloud Sync across your devices.

I bought the full version but it's not unlocked on my other device. Open GameSlate, go to the purchase screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Restores are free and use your Apple Account.

How do I move my data to a new phone? With the full version, turn on iCloud Sync and your data appears on any device signed in to the same Apple Account. You can also, on any tier, use Export Backup in Settings to save a single backup file and Import Backup on the new device.

Which games are supported? GameSlate has guided calculators for Wingspan, 7 Wonders Duel, Forest Shuffle, Catan, Azul, Cascadia, Skyjo, Yahtzee and Terraforming Mars. You can also build your own calculator for any game, or use flexible points or win/loss scoring for anything you add.
